2013-14 Back-to-School Information
Welcome to the 2013-14 school year at Our Lady. Our theme for the year is
Building the Kingdom with Our Gifts. Students, teachers and parents bring many diverse gifts to the Our Lady school community. We appreciate and foster these gifts as we strive to build God’s kingdom.
Please make note of the following important dates.
Preschool Night
Parents of three-year-old preschool students are invited to attend an orientation meeting on Monday, July 29 at 6:15 pm in the preschool room, room 111.
Parents of four-year-old pre-kindergarten students are invited to attend an orientation meeting at 7:00 pm on July 29. Five day pre-kindergarten parents will meet in Mrs. Crone’s classroom, room 110, and three day pre-kindergarten parents will meet in Mrs. Callaway’s classroom, room 111.
New Family Orientation Meeting
New families with students in kindergarten-grade 8 are invited to meet with the principal at 5:30 pm in the cafeteria on Tuesday, July 30. Welcome to the Our Lady school community!
Crusader Kick-Off
Kindergarten-Grade 8 school families should plan to attend the Crusader Kick-Off on Tuesday, July 30 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Students and parents may visit briefly with teachers in their classrooms, drop off school supplies and visit with new and old friends. Stations will be set up in the cafeteria for lunch deposits, dismissal car numbers, volunteer sign ups, uniform sales and afterschool care registration. Parents may also register students for Band, Homework Haven and Junior High Spanish. Information on athletics, the Kroger/Scrip program and PTO will also be available. Kindergarten parents will have a brief meeting in the kindergarten classrooms at 6:00 pm.
Registration and fee payments
If you need to return your registration papers or make fee payments, please call, email or visit Mrs. Connie Andres in the school office by July 22. The office is open from 9:00 am-1:00 pm. The phone number is 812-944-7676 and the email address is

Voucher Meeting
New state regulations are allowing more families to use vouchers to help pay for tuition. If you would like more information, there will be a meeting with a representative from the state on
Tuesday, July 23 at 7:00 pm in our cafeteria. (Please note that this date has been changed.)
Class Lists
Class lists will be posted on the windows next to the school entrance this Friday, July 19. Teachers give much thought and discussion when assigning homerooms, and they group students for success. Please trust that your child will have a great year wherever they are placed.
First Day of School
School begins on August 1. The PTO is sponsoring a
BooHoo Breakfast in the cafeteria at 8:00 am on August 1 for preschool, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten parents as they drop off their former toddlers for the first day of school.
New Dismissal Procedure
The New Albany Police were consulted to help us plan a safe dismissal procedure for all students. Please note that you will need number cards for pick up. These cards may be picked up at Crusader Kick-Off or Preschool/Pre-kindergarten Night. Please make arrangements to pick up your cards before the first day of school to help this procedure run smoothly.
Pool Party
The PTO is sponsoring a free Back-to-School Pool Party on Saturday, August 3 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Clarksville Aquatic Center. Free pizza will be provided.
